Ingredients
  1. Fruit (for example lemon, lime, orange, raspberries, strawberries)
  2. Herbs (for example mint, thyme, sage)
  3. Water
  4. Ice cube tray
Instructions
  1. Prep your fruit/ herbs: wash and cut into small portions.
  2. Place fruit/ herbs into your ice cube tray.
  3. Fill with water and freeze.
  4. Enjoy!

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon fresh made fruit water at a spa.  What a great way to hydrate and detox! All natural, healthy and refreshing. Great inspiration for today’s blog!

Why not make your own healthy sparkling vitamin water with fresh fruits? All you need is your favorite fruit, some ice cubes and water!

So hydrate with this DIY Fruit infused Water. Say goodbye to soda with this refreshing, healthy “spa water”! Make multiple varieties to create your own amazing fruit water bar :D

Ingredients
  1. Fruit (see suggestions below)
  2. Water
  3. Ice cubes
Raspberry Fruit Water
  1. Add a handful of raspberries into a jar. Press and twist with a muddler to release some of the juices (don't pulverize the fruit).
  2. Fill the jar with ice, then add water to the top.
  3. Stir, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let flavors infuse.
  4. Enjoy!
Orange Fruit Water
  1. Cut 1 orange in halve, cut the halves into thin slices. Add to jar, press and twist with a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon to release some of the juices (don't pulverize the fruit).
  2. Fill the jar with ice, then add water to the top.
  3. Stir, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let flavors infuse.
  4. Enjoy!
Lemon & Lime Fruit Water
  1. Cut 1 lemon & 1 lime in halve, cut each halve into thin slices.
  2. In a jar add the lemon slices, lime slices, ice and fill with water.
  3. Stir, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let flavors infuse.
  4. Enjoy!

  1. Besides fruit you can also add herbs, for example a sprig of mint, basil, sage, rosemary, tarragon, thyme, or lavender

Happy New Year Detox!

The Holidays are over, which often means: (A) we had a jolly good time, and (B) we drank and ate too much.

I always have to chuckle when I see the advertisements and commercials at the beginning of a new year, stuffed with promotions for diet products and sport attributes. Yes, commercialism knows it! We probably enjoyed life a little bit too much and now we have to deal with the consequences. After all, we have high hopes for this year. We even made some New Year resolutions (which often have something to do with ‘I will not … anymore’ or ‘I will … more’).

So, a great detox recipe is here to save your day: Lemon Mint Water! You can’t wish for a better way to start your day and brand new year! Drinking lemon water has a powerful cleansing effect on you liver, kidneys and blood. It is high in vitamin C, good for your skin, aids the digestive system and helps to get rid of body toxins. A perfect way to integrate in your daily life is to drink a glass of lemon water in the morning 15-20 minutes prior breakfast. Or drink a few glasses after an intensive workout session to help eliminating the waste products from the body. Also a great remedy if you feel like getting ill, it can contribute to curing a cold. Ingredients
  1. 1 Lemon
  2. 2-3 stalks Fresh Mint
  3. Water
Instructions
  1. Pour water into a pitcher.
  2. Cut up your lemon into 4 pieces. Squeeze the lemon pieces above the water, so that their juice mixes with the water but the slices do not lose their round shape. Add the lemons to the water.
  3. Add the mint leaves. Stir with a long spoon. Let it steep for a few minutes until the flavours open up.
  4. Add ice cubes if you plan to serve the water immediately or place the pitcher in the fridge.
  5. Enjoy!
